AEF & AgGateway join forces

Connected agricultural machines are at the heart of Digital Farming: only when farm machines can easily communicate with each other and to related systems (such as, , farm management systems) can the aim of a truly connected agriculture be achieved. In particular, the ISOBUS standard (ISO11783 using ISO-XML as data standard) has become standard for interoperability between tractors and implements from different manufacturers.

The chart provides a brief overview of how the two industry associations are working together in an initiative to advance further together on the path towards connected Digital Farming.

While the AEF is concentrating on standards for smart, interoperable farm machines, AgGateway is active in standardizing data exchange between different actors in the agricultural supply chain. Together they are striving to advance Digital Farming, which means to go beyond the mere presence and availability of data and to create usable intelligence and meaningful added value from such data.
