High Speed Implement Bus – Physical Layer – Communication channel and breakaway connectors published
A subgroup of physical layer experts from the High Speed ISOBUS team created AEF RIG 041 “High Speed Implement Bus – Physical layer – Communication channel and breakaway connectors”.
This guideline defines the specifications of the standardized High Speed ISOBUS breakaway connector system allowing communication at 1000 Mb/s between a tractor and implement. Additionally, this guideline defines the specifications of the full communication channel used in the implementation of high speed ISOBUS.
AEF 041 is the first of several guidelines coming from the HSI team. When taken together, the application of these guidelines will enable a new level of performance in the network that integrates the electronics in farming systems. The HSI Network is about 4000 times faster than today’s ISOBUS, enabling more precise command, control, and data logging of an implement’s operation. It also enables the easy integration of cameras for viewing that operation on and around a machine. And as other AEF projects are further developed, the HSI will support additional use-cases.
