Sjaak Bontje – Loss of a team member
Sjaak Bontje 1956 – 2020
It is with great sadness that we write this today, about Sjaak Bontje and his sudden passing. Sjaak had an extremely successful career and contributed to Powell Electronics in incredible ways. He was involved in the AEF and has participated in Project Teams 3, 7 and 10 – High Speed ISOBUS, working tirelessly to help create AEF Guidelines for the agricultural industry. Sjaak was very passionate and cared deeply for the work of Project Team 10 knowing it would help the industry worldwide. Sjaak carried his message worldwide to customers continuing to educate them on the ISO standard and many times introducing and training them on how to design the ISO products into their unique applications.
Sjaak was with Powell Electronics for 15 years and with Company Deutsch for 15 years prior to that. Sjaak cared deeply about his family, his career and his native country, The Netherlands. He spoke and mastered three languages and was a black belt in jujitsu.
Sjaak was only recently married, and had a wonderful plan to work from the island of Bonaire and retire there someday. His wife Ruth, his three children, family, and work colleagues will miss him very much.
On behalf of the AEF, we thank him and honor all the contributions he gave not only to the company but to his colleagues at Powell, in the AEF and the different industries he contributed to.
Rest in peace our friend.
