The Agricultural Industry Electronics Foundation e.V. (AEF) is an independent international association with 220 member companies. Founded in 2008 by eight multinational Ag manufacturer companies.
As a user platform for ISO 11783 (ISOBUS), it provides resources and know-how for the increased use of electronic and electrical systems in farming.
The AEF will participate in a European Commission subsidized project on standards in IoT communication. This project will start in October 2019 and is looking for an individual to lead this project.
He or she will probably have one of the most challenging jobs in the agricultural machinery world today defining a standard for Cloud-To-Cloud communication.
Manage and lead the AEF project team dedicated to the EU subsidized project.
Develop and implement communication standards between cloud platforms of the agricultural industry. Although the project is related to Europe, the standards are global, and will be supported by all manufacturers in agricultural sector.
Provide leadership to the EU subsidized project
Organize dedicated project team, engage team members, efficiently arrange and prioritize work across teams and team members due to defined goals
Work with current AEF teams on related topics to ensure cross team alignment
Engineering degree in computer sciences or electrical engineering
Administration experience in the agricultural industry or other industry segments of similar structure and behavior (automotive, mechanical / electronics systems engineering, etc.) and EU subsided projects welcomed
Knowledge of Internet of Things, Cloud computing standards and protocols
Strong people management experience and skills
Autonomous worker, ability to handle several issues of different structure in parallel
Good communication and control skills, good attitude at analyzing and consolidating information
Languages: fluent English and German
European and occasional WW travel required
Knowledge of Ag industry and products
Strong personality, assertiveness
Good communication and negotiation skills
Structured and organized
Self-motivated and hands-on mentality
Strict neutrality towards the various member companies
