AEF TIM Award ceremony
Tractor Implement Management (TIM) receives two awards in February: ASABE AE50 Award and AEM Davidson Prize in the US.
The AEF Chairman, Peter van der Vlugt, and General Manager, Norbert Schlingmann attended both events to receive the awards on behalf of all the AEF project teams involved in the development of TIM.
The Agricultural Industry Electronics Association (AEF) is very pleased to be a recipient of an AE50 award from the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE), along with the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) Davidson Prize 2020. Both are in recognition of AEF’s development of the Tractor Implement Management (TIM) functionality launched in 2019. The AEF is very appreciative to both ASABE and AEM for this recognition of their development work in the Ag industry.
The AE50 award was presented during the ASABE Agricultural Equipment Technology Conference in Louisville, Kentucky on February 11, 2020 and then at the Commodity Classic show in San Antonio, Texas on February 27, the ASABE - AEM Davidson Prize 2020 was presented. The AEF Chairman, Peter van der Vlugt, and General Manager, Norbert Schlingmann attended both events to receive the awards on behalf of all the AEF project teams involved in the development of TIM.
“We’re excited about the advancement of ag engineering and the positive impacts it continues to have on farmers’ ability to work more efficiently,” said Curt Blades, senior vice president of Agriculture for AEM. “These three products deliver on solutions that truly represent the spirit of J.B. Davidson and the innovative legacy of agriculture.”
The Davidson Prize is named for J.B. Davidson, the father of modern agricultural engineering. It gives a nod to the storied past of agricultural engineering and pays homage to those engineers, like J.B. Davidson, who aspire to find a better way. Winners were selected from the AE50 honorees, announced at the Agricultural Equipment Technology Conference earlier this month in Louisville.
TIM will provide for the first time a system that enables secure, industry leading communication between tractors and implements from different manufacturers. TIM is a cross-product and cross-manufacturer ISOBUS solution where the implement controls certain tractor functions and optimizes the working process. What is new is that the implement sends information to the tractor via standardized and secure communication which leads to an optimization of the overall system.
With TIM, the farmer works more precisely, effectively and economically while simultaneously increasing quality. TIM saves time and money. The field operation becomes technically simpler and easier as TIM takes over tiring and repetitive tasks. And, the farmer can use TIM with his tractors and implements from different manufacturers.
