AEF Board Sets Focus on Collaboration, Plugfest Electrified by Record Attendance.

At its recent General Assembly meeting in Bologna, Italy, the Agricultural Industry Electronics Foundation (AEF) appointed Andrew Olliver, former AEF Vice Chairman and Global Precision Technology Partner Manager for CNH Industrial to serve as its new Chairman. Successful Plugfest is back on stage in Europe after the North American one in New Orleans in March 2022. More than 330 participants enjoyed the face-to-face event from the 17th to the 21th of October at the Savoia Regency Hotel in Bologna, Italy. It was a welcome return to this venue which successfully hosted the 2016 and 2018 edition of the AEF Fall Plugfest. There were 170 participants and 160 visitors who performed 3335 tests during the three days in 30 minute time slots.

Peter has been a member of the AEF Steering Committee since the beginning and was elected as Vice-Chairman in 2008. Then as Rainer Hofmann stepped back as chair in autumn 2012, Peter was formally elected as Chairman during the General Assembly meeting of that year.

AEF thanks Rainer and Peter for their active engagement and wishes a well-deserved retirement.

Jan-Hendrik Wölker has left AEF as of end of October to pursue other interests. He started in 2012 working for the company Fuhrhop & Partner supporting AEF activities and eventually came to work full time for AEF.

AEF has grown, even during the last couple of years, and with that growth comes the challenge of effective collaboration between the many teams. All projects involve more than one team, and some teams find it difficult to support all the other teams with virtual meetings where there are only a few hours of overlap. Travel is starting back up and the teams can finally begin meeting face to face again. This will help, but there remains the challenge that some teams are spread too thin to…

After a long break due to the Covid pandemic, the postponed SIMA show took place in Paris Nord - Villepinte / France from November 6 through 10 2022. For its 100th anniversary the SIMA moved from February to November.

From the 9th to the 13th of November the 45th EIMA show took place in Bologna, Italy. The record number of 327,100 visitors certainly enjoyed the event and it was great not to have the COVID restrictions (masks and green passes) which were in place during the previous edtion of the EIMA show.

iVT Technology Expo Chicago was the first time this show was held in the US. The technology expo focuses on bringing together component manufacturers of the latest autonomous, electric and hybrid vehicle technology with the design engineers and vehicle engineering community creating the next generation of industrial and commercial heavy vehicles.
